Security
Each E-TOKEN system is location specific. Credits on E-TOKENS cannot be used at other locations, or competitor locations.
For cashless amusement vending, the security used by E-TOKEN is of the highest level. The chances of successfully tampering with the monetary amounts or the security access stored or on the E-TOKEN key fobs* is essentially nil.
Cash and coin counting is centralized. This simplifies physical cash management and makes it easier to implement security measures.
The software has very sophisticated multi-level security built in. Only the owner can access the Location Configuration, Attendant Management, and Transaction Analysis and Reporting modules. Only attendants authorized by the owner can operate the E-Cashier program and every transaction an attendant performs is safely recorded in a transaction log. Secure mechanisms are built into the program to prevent tampering of the data. Also, audit safeguards are built in to assist in confirming that the recorded data is accurate.
* A key fob is a type of security token. It is a small hardware device with built-in, tamper proof authentication mechanisms. Just as the keys held on an ordinary key chain control access to a home, business, or car, a key fob controls access to information, but it is much more secure than an ordinary key. Thus the E-TOKEN key fobs that are used for various purposes in the E-Token system are extremely secure devices designed to provide secure transactions.
